Please note that the following awards are available to all the participants at Old Orchard Farm shows. However, in order to qualify, there are some stipulations that insure the equity of those awards.

In order for points to be counted toward "year-end awards", the horse / rider in Equitation Divisions must show at 3 of the 5 Old Orchard Farm shows.

Points will be accumulated as horse and rider combinations except in Equitation Divisions.

Fieldmaster Award

Awarded to the horse or pony who accumulates the most points overall in the show season. This can be in multiple divisions with multiple riders.

 

Shady Lane Sportsmanship Award

Awarded for consistency demonstrating good sportsmanship throughout the show season. Voted by the Show Management Team. Anyone, can nominate candidates by leaving a written note with the secretaries.

Espirit Memorial Cup

Esprit was a much loved school horse, owned by Cathy Wessels, who gave many beginners their first lesson or first show experience. In her honour, Ron and Cathy created the Esprit Memorial Cup which goes to the rider in either Beginner Division who accumulates the most points during the show season.

Old Orchard Farm Rider Assistance Bursary

Again this year generous donors have offered to provide a cash bursary to riders who are deemed deserving and in need of an extra “leg up”. Applications for the bursary are accepted up to one week before the Old Orchard Farm Awards Banquet and are available at the farm and online. The selections committee will be looking to help riders who contribute to the Old Orchard team in terms of spirit, pitching in and dedication to the sport and to the animals. Consideration will also be given to those who require a little extra financial help to achieve their goals. Download application form.
