Please note that the following awards are available to all the participants at Old Orchard Farm shows. However, in order to qualify, there are some stipulations that insure the equity of those awards.

In order for points to be counted toward "year-end awards", the horse / rider in Equitation Divisions must show at 3 of the 5 Old Orchard Farm shows.

Points will be accumulated as horse and rider combinations except in Equitation Divisions.

Fieldmaster Award

Awarded to the horse or pony who accumulates the most points overall in the show season. This can be in multiple divisions with multiple riders.

 

Shady Lane Sportsmanship Award

Awarded for consistency demonstrating good sportsmanship throughout the show season. Voted by the Show Management Team. Anyone, can nominate candidates by leaving a written note with the secretaries.

Espirit Memorial Cup

Esprit was a much loved school horse, owned by Cathy Wessels, who gave many beginners their first lesson or first show experience. In her honour, Ron and Cathy created the Esprit Memorial Cup which goes to the rider in either Beginner Division who accumulates the most points during the show season.

Old Orchard Farm Rider Assistance Bursary

Once again we are pleased to be able to offer the Old Orchard Farm bursary to be awarded to an Old Orchard Farm rider who wishes to further his or her equine career or competitive goals. This prestigious award of $500 is awarded to a rider based on their current involvement with horses, team spirit, willingness to participate in barn activities and volunteer their time. Also considered will be the candidate's long term and immediate goals with horses. All riders are welcome to apply and the winner will be determined based on response to the questionnaire, input from coaches, staff members, and by nominations collected from their peers. This award is to assist with riding lessons, special training, competition fees, continuing education, or other activities that will help the recipient of the award to achieve their equine objectives for 2011.
